Speaking at the group's eighth annual fundraising banquet held recently at the Jamaican Canadian Centre in Toronto, Ms. Bonner said the organization has been nurtured by a talented and dedicated alumni, and has overcome the many challenges faced by any new organization.

Consul General Lauds Merl Grove Canadian Alumni Association
Jamaica's Consul General to Toronto, Anne-Marie Bonner, has lauded the achievements of the Canadian chapter of the Merl Grove Past Students Association.

Young attorney raises the Bar - Kedian Francis aspires to be a law unto herself

“I chose Whitney because she is a powerful singer, her voice is unique. I use her and other artistes to train my voice, in terms of pitch and range,” she said.

I am from the ghetto and I want people to see that something good can come from the ghetto.” She also dances, dabbles in art and is also a track and field athlete.

Jamaica should vote for me because…I’m the best. I can make a positive change in Jamaican society through music, in collaboration with the other talents that I have.
Merl Grove Past Student makes Digicel Rising Star top ten
Judges’ choice Jaelesa ‘Patrice’ Ellis secured her place in the top ten with her rendition of “Run to You” by Whitney Houston.

The seventeen year old songstress is a student at the Garmex Heart Academy in Kingston. The Merl Grove past student says she uses person performers like Whitney Houston to help hone her craft.

Francis comes to Fayette after a year at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, where she worked with jumpers on the track team and was a Student Wellness supervisor.

In addition to her coaching at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Francis has coached at Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskeegee, Alabama and at her alma mater Merl Grove High School. Read more.

Francis joins Central Methodist Track & Field staff.
The Central Methodist University Track & Field program and Director of Track & Field, Jeff Hoskisson, announced that Dionne Francis has accepted a position on the Eagles Track & Field coaching staff.
